Celebrating Mobility:ROMP Launches 6th Annual Mobility May Campaign

Global nonprofit, the Range of Motion Project (ROMP), in partnership with PROTEOR and Osprey, announces the kickoff of its highly anticipated sixth annual "Mobility May" campaign. Dedicated to promoting mobility and providing crucial prosthetic care to amputees in need, Mobility May marks a month-long celebration of ROMP’s community, the organization’s 19th birthday, and its commitment to enhancing lives through mobility.

Mobility For A Cause

Mobility May is not just a campaign; it's a movement. From May 1st to May 31st, participants are encouraged to get moving and contribute to the collective community goal of ‘ROMPing’ 60,000 miles while raising $60,000. These funds will directly support the provision of 40 prosthetic devices to ROMP patients, empowering them to regain their independence and mobility.

This inclusive initiative welcomes individuals from all walks of life to join hands in support of a worthy cause. Participants can engage in any form of physical activity, with every stride contributing to the overarching goal. Using the PledgeIt platform, participants can easily collect donations/pledges and log their activities, fostering a sense of camaraderie and shared purpose throughout the month.

Throughout the month, ROMP will award prizes and use their platforms to highlight patient stories to encourage others to join the Mobility May festivities. Sponsor Osprey will provide prizes for participants. "Mobility May is a testament to the power of community and collective action," remarks Sydney Marshburn, Social Media and Outreach Manager of ROMP. "By harnessing our mobility, we not only celebrate our own abilities but also extend a lifeline to those in need of prosthetic care."

A Shared Mission

After utilizing 2023’s Mobility May as a fun and competitive way to get staff from different locations involved, leading prosthetic manufacturer PROTEOR joins ROMP as a proud sponsor of the Mobility May campaign for the second consecutive year. "PROTEOR is committed to empowering individuals to enhance their independence and well-being,” Sharon Gwynn, PROTEOR’s Marketing Operations Manager, expresses. “Our collaboration with ROMP exemplifies this commitment, as together, we strive to make a meaningful difference in the lives of amputees."
